Eli Young Band Drops New Track "What Do Lonely People Do"

Eli Young Band, the Texas-born country music quartet, is kicking off 2025 with the release of their new single "What Do Lonely People Do" on January 17. The song, co-written by lead singer Mike Eli and Jeffrey East, explores the uncertainty of starting over after a relationship ends. This release follows their 2024 singles "I'm Yours Amen" and "Home in Hometown," marking a new chapter for the band as they return to their roots.
Formed in 2000 while attending the University of North Texas in Denton, Eli Young Band consists of Mike Eli (lead vocals, guitar), James Young (guitar), Jon Jones (bass guitar), and Chris Thompson (drums). The group's journey from college bars to country music stardom has been marked by their unique blend of country storytelling and rock-influenced sound.
Throughout their career, Eli Young Band has achieved significant success, including four No. 1 hits on the Billboard country charts: "Crazy Girl," "Even If It Breaks Your Heart," "Drunk Last Night," and "Love Ain't". Their music has earned them multiple nominations from the GRAMMYs, CMA, and ACM Awards, with "Crazy Girl" winning Song of the Year at the 2012 ACM Awards.
The band's latest musical offerings, including "What Do Lonely People Do," were recorded at Panhandle House Studio in their hometown of Denton, Texas. This coincides with a renewed creative energy for the group, with more music slated to roll out throughout 2025.
