Cody Jinks Releases New Album Tribute to Lefty Frizzell With Feature Track "If You've Got the Money I've Got the Time"

Cody Jinks has released "If You've Got the Money I've Got the Time" as part of his latest album "Cody Jinks Sings Lefty Frizzell," a tribute to the late honky-tonk legend Lefty Frizzell. The album dropped on December 6, 2024.
The album features other classic tracks such as "That's the Way Love Goes," and "I Never Go Around Mirrors." For Jinks, this project holds personal significance as "The Long Black Veil" was the first song his father taught him to play on guitar.
Lefty Frizzell was a pioneering figure in country music who became the first artist to achieve four songs simultaneously in the Billboard country top ten. His unique note-bending vocal style influenced countless artists, including Merle Haggard, George Jones, Willie Nelson, and Roy Orbison. Frizzell was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1982, with his impact on country music considered immeasurable by artists like Merle Haggard.
Meredith Cody Jinks, born August 18, 1980, in Haltom City, Texas, began his musical journey in metal before transitioning to country music. His career has amassed impressive statistics, including 3.5 billion streams across platforms and over 2 million tickets sold. Jinks maintains his independence in the industry, operating through his own Late August Records.
Jinks has earned recognition as Music Row's 2023 Independent Artist of the Year. His commitment to authenticity and traditional country values has helped him build a dedicated following without compromising his artistic vision.
The 2025 Hippies and Cowboys Tour will begin March 14 in New Orleans at the Mahalia Jackson Theatre and includes stops across the country through September 20. The tour will visit major venues including FirstBank Amphitheater in Franklin, TN, and the Ford Idaho Center Amphitheater.
Jinks' journey from fronting the metal band Unchecked Aggression to becoming a leading voice in country music demonstrates his versatility as an artist. His DIY approach to the music business, learned from his punk and metal days, has shaped his independent path in the country music industry.
