Canaan Smith Releases Latest Track "Chickahominy" Ahead of New Album

Canaan Smith has released his latest offering "Chickahominy" as part of a 2-track single on December 6, 2024. The new song is set to feature as part of his third studio album of the same name, scheduled to drop on January 24, 2025.

The album "Chickahominy" is titled after the river Smith grew up on in Virginia and is produced by Anthony Olympia (known for work with Everette and Kendell Marvel). Smith has already released two tracks from the album: "Green" and "Bread And Honey."

"Green," co-written with Drew Kennedy, is described as a stomp-and-holler revival song about a church-going weed farmer running from the DEA. "Bread And Honey," written with Autumn Marie Buysse, explores the destructive nature of gambling addiction on marriage.

Smith is a PLATINUM-selling country artist from Williamsburg, Virginia. His breakthrough came with his major label debut "Bronco" and the hit "Love You Like That," which has accumulated over 160 million streams. As a songwriter, he has written for notable artists including Cody Johnson ("Work Boots"), Jason Aldean ("Black Tears"), Tyler Hubbard ("Park"), and Cole Swindell ("Party Wasn't Over").

This album marks Smith's transition to independent artistry. He has also written songs for several notable artists, including Cody Johnson, Jason Aldean, and Tyler Hubbard.
